One of South Africa's most acclaimed character actors, Anthony Fridjhon has enjoyed a distinguished
career in live theatre with major, award-winning performances in Talley's Folley,
Glengarry Glen Ross, I'm Not Rappaport and Twilight Of The Golds. During the
1970s, he played in hundreds of Springbok Radio productions including The Avengers (where he
played guest roles and deputised as the "Mother" character) and also Squad Cars, another
popular Sonovision series for which he wrote many of the episodes. Between 1980 and 1985 he wrote
practically wrote all the Squad Cars scripts including the final episode on 28th June 1985.
He also acted in many episodes of the series during its long run. In vision, he has been featured in
more than fifty films and television productions.
In recent years, Anthony has worked extensively as a writer/producer of documentaries, including a visit
to Poland to co-write and present a programme about Lech Walesa. He has also appeared frequently with
the National Symphony Orchestra as narrator for presentations such as Peter and The Wolf,
King David, and Carnival of the Animals.
Today he works extensively as a voice artist for radio and television commercials and a writer/producer of
corporate and industrial media presentations.
