Dennis Folbigge was one of South African radio's leading actor-writer-directors, and was responsible
for adapting and directing many serials and series. Among these was The Avengers, upon which he
worked for two years having taken over the reins from Tony Jay,
tailoring the original television scripts for radio, and directing the recordings. From time to time,
he also worked in live theatre, his stage credits including plays such as Amadeus and
The Spider's Web.
Dennis appeared in South African television programmes, including the series, Westgate.
Among his feature film credits is the Oscar-winning Zulu, starring Michael Caine, in which
Dennis played Commissary Dalton.
Sadly, Dennis Folbigge died in the mid-1990s.
